Interesting changes. Power's first start Thomas out so AJB presumably moves to right wing. If it is 442, we basically have 3 wingers in midfield, plus Young.

Another poor pitch (no surprise here). Scrappy but we've just about been on top in the first 20. It's not quite coming together though, and Power needs to watch his winger like a hawk.

Taylor's on fire. Not sure how Halliwell thought that was a header, or how Matthews thought it was back post. Volley, middle of the goal to the top near corner. Matthews thinks it was a header as well  jeez...

Excellent cross from Williams.

Don't wanna drag up past posts.
But this is a much better first half performance than last week!

Decent half, shame we're not two up, probably should be.

Have to say I absolutely love Stubbs and Bradbury as our two centre backs. Two solid, well built L2 defenders with enough ability on the ball that you don't worry when they have it at their feet.

GET IN! Taking advantage of the opposition's mistakes for once. That was a howler, but a great finish from Williams. 2 assists and a goal for our last 3 goals for him.

Why is Bennett coming on...

We're well on top, why is Flynn changing formation ffs?!

So Bennett is apparently ahead of Dieng as a midfielder...

Ha, at least one of us will be happy then.

We've completely surrendered our dominance. Should have kept two up and our foot on their throats.

Wtf do I know

Brilliant hit from Archer, and now they're down to 10 as well. 2 yellows for dissent for Baker-Richardson, not the smartest!

Happy days in the sun for the travelling army.

Great performance, one of those days when it all goes right for once! And we no longer have a negative goal difference for the first time since...well, early in the season!

44 points, 43 scored, 43 against.

Ref has had a good game, for us - still missed a penalty we should have had, though. Don't think he made many friends in Newport, but I don't think a single free kick we were given was unjustified.

Ikr, it's almost as if if the ref is fair, we have a good chance in the game.

Agree with this. Nearly all the decisions went cheltenhams way....but that's because they should have.

Great performance. What a refreshing change to have depth in the squad. Nice to see Hay and Taylor play to their strengths too.

Rather than Matty coming on for the last 30, he needs to start like today with Hay. Take him off after 60min. He was really good today

I think everyone agrees Taylor is our best striker - but he's only that when he's playing alongside another striker. Up front on his own, he's got no chance.

Matty could be our new Alfie May. Half a chance and it’s in the net.

Excellent cross from Williams.
In fairness I thought it was a header, but then i was viewing it from 100 miles away on the away end scaffolding. Didn’t appreciate the cross from Williams at the time. A beauty.

Has it taken two thirds of the season to realise that?

Cracking day out.

Power got properly skinned a couple of times early on and I was worried. But after that we pretty much controlled it.

I completely missed Baker-Richardson getting sent off. I thought he’d just been subbed and was stropping off. Don’t blame him though. Stubbs had him in his pocket for the whole game. The word colossus was invented for that man.

For the last 10 mins Newport couldn’t wait for the whistle. We looked like we could almost score at will. Lovely walk back across the bridge to the station. Lots of the youngsters thoroughly enjoying themselves. Good to see.

Oh, a slow hand clap for Transport for Wales though. Wales playing rugby? Cheltenham playing at Newport? Racing on at Chepstow? Here’s two carriages for your train back to Gloucestershire.

Well, apparently nobody plays 4-4-2, these days...

Flynn brought him on so he could get a positive reception from the Newport fans

Including us as we didn't play 4-4-2 yesterday either and I am not joking. I'm not sure exactly what the formation what was but it was more 4-2-2-2.

We were something close to 442 without the ball. But with the ball it’s anyone’s guess. AJB could have been playing anywhere in the second half - probably the only position he didn’t cover was goalkeeper.

One up front was after the subs came on. It was 4 4 2 . The system that the strikers love.

Except it wasn't 4-4-2 Horlick, definitely not that formation. Young was sitting deep in front of the back four then Archer further forward but dropping back when we didn't have the ball.

There were, basically, 4 in defence, 4 in midfield, and 2 up front. It was fluid, but it was essentially that.
