...now not playing FGR in the FA cup
his week.

ineligible player maybe, but that's just an obvious guess.

That would be easily sorted I’d have thought, not a full investigation…

Probably turn out to be Vince's biggest and weirdest PR stunt yet. More headlines and column inches.

They’ve done one of two things wrong:

1) played an ineligible player due to complexity of loanees. Wouldn’t be first club to do that, rare but not unheard of
2) more seriously, manipulated the ‘emergency loan’ of their goalkeeper. You’re allowed to get an emergency loan keeper if you have no other options…if they get caught for that then presumably they’ve been doing it in league games too so could end up with points deduction

One of the theories from their forum is that they fielded their emergency loan keeper - but named their 'injured' keeper on the bench. That might explain why it's not so cut and dried as the Barnsley case.

Also read on there that the 'injured' keeper also played in the EFL Trophy. In which case they have just basically brought in a keeper on loan outside of the transfer window not an emergency loan which could have far wider reaching consequences (hopefully😆).

They also seem to think that Vince and the club will reimburse them for travel and hotels etc. Now some clubs would do that but I highly doubt that FGR will do it. They are all just one of DV's play things. He has no interest in them. It's just something he uses to get his "message" across.

It's got to be pretty serious for the game to be called off at such short notice and for FGR not to have come out with any proper statement yet. Here's hoping it inc a points reduction to send them back to the National League

Why would an ineligible player in an FA Cup game lead to a points deduction in the EFL?

I don't know if it will but, as above, if it's to do with the keeper, presumably they've also been using the "emergency" keeper in L2 when they shouldn't have and they will have broken League rules too.

Cheltenham Town bracing themselves for an approach from FGR for club secretary Paul Godfrey.

Will a double your money offer from Dale be enough to snare him??

Thankfully Paul is Mr Cheltenham. On the ball, super efficient and a nice chap to boot. So lucky to have him here.

I can't remember which club it was, but I recall someone falling foul of playing an emergency loan when their own keeper was fine

Seems they have abused the emergency loan system and been found out. I am sure this will apply to the league as well.

As mentioned above FGR is a play tool for Vince and simply a vehicle for him to spread his messages. I don't believe he has any interest in the football side of the club

Mr.Godfrey can`t be bought at any price, allthough England might have a chance of employing him part time ?

Blackpool have been informed that they should know what's happening by Wednesday. It's bizarre...it has to be something more complicated than the Barnsley case - or maybe that was only dealt with so quickly because they put their hands up and said "Mea culpa"? Maybe FGR have lawyers engaged?

See thread in 'other footy'.

Blackpool are apoplectic because, thanks to the postponed tie, they now face playing six games in sixteen days.
