Re: its all gone quiet
The negativity and outright moronic behavior by a fair size on this forum pushed a number of people away and kept any potential new people at bay. A season of almost entire positive feelings around the club wasn't met with such on here, with some looking for any reason to have a moan. Again, this wi...

Reading have very high standards, don't forget: after all, they released Robson-Kanu. (Actually, I also think Dickie won't be too far from the first team, this season.) Not true actually. Robson-Kanu chose to move on at the end of his contract. While he claims it was his decision to run down his co...

Re: Was Dan Holman ever tempted to leave?
Seriously, what is with the attack on his work? He asked a question that some fans may have been thinking themselves, printed the answer which, let's face it, is music to any Cheltenham fan's ears. It's nice to know that we were his first and pretty much only thought once the season ended. Keep up t...

Rushden won their first 7 before drawing 1-1 away to Dover and going on a run of 5 without a win.
Also worth pointing out their end of season collapse of 1 win in 8.

Individual Performances
Time for some older fans to reminisce. We've often talked about excellent team performances over the years. I'm curious to know peoples thoughts on who has given the best individual performances at Whaddon Road? Something I meant to post/ask after Troy Brown's excellent performance recently against ...

I was talking to a guy sat near me at half-time who said it was his first visit since August. He said he wasn't really a football fan and was more of a rugby fan who usually watches Gloucester, but as they didn't have a game he thought he'd tag along with his daughter who comes to Whaddon Road from ...

Re: FAO PAUL BAKER
I don't see that being a concern for a fair number of years.
Happy to discuss it further when there are firm plans in place for a new main stand, but till then - no, I can't begin to imagine how unbearable the away fans having the whole length of the pitch would be.

Pointless as very few L2 clubs need more than 2/3 blocks and, as I said in the other thread, why give them the best seats in the house?

Re: Its not Yates, Buckle, Baker, players or even our fault.
Why give the away fans the best seats in the house? No thanks. Plus I'm happy with my seat in the I2P. I don't use the terrace for one simple reason - I don't like the view from behind a goal. Away fans in the corner. Best way forward, especially as we won't see a new main stand for a long time and ...

Re: Its not Yates, Buckle, Baker, players or even our fault.
I've said before but we need to give the In2Print stand to away fans as soon as the new stand is built. Two blocks in the corner of the I2P is more than enough for a lot of away sides. It should be judged on a game by game basis. Don't sell season tickets for the stand behind the goal, just have a ...

Re: FAO PAUL BAKER
Having finally had a chance to hear the interview I can now pass comment. Baker sounded like a very stressed man under enormous pressure. So I'll allow a little bit of rambling.let, which seemed to happen in a couple of moments. While it's never smart to criticise fans, it's absolutely insane, for a...

Re: They’re not fit to wear the shirt!
Other than Richards and Harrison I do not believe it was a general lack of effort today. The problem was zero cutting edge and no players in the squad to make something happen. When Richards bottles tackles and Harrison doesn't even compete for the ball we are at a massive disadvantage. Spot on. Th...

Re: Time the squatters feecked off
It isn't the lush, flat surface we had for years before the Gloucester ground share came in to action. There's no denying that. Throw in some adverse weather in recent winters and it makes it worse. As shown 2 years ago against Northampton in the play-offs. However, the pitch is irrelevant when the ...

Out comes the Troll, four games in and everything is rosey but it's a long season. I for one and encouraged by our start but plenty of teams have had a good start and struggled come the end. Bedwell is worth a look if Roberts leaves. McEveley could be a decent shout depending on wages. N'Guessan and Benson will want too much in wages. The rest aren't good enough.

I'm neutral to Yates. I'll praise him when he does things right, defend him when he's harshly criticised and I'll criticise him when he gets things wrong. Today is one where he'll get harshly criticised over 3 minutes of football where he's pretty much powerless to do anything. Unfortunately being n...

Re: THE ONLY POSITIVE
Not always but, today, it's solely on the players. Yates has many faults; we've seen a lot of issues this season; but he can not be blamed for players switching off and conceding 3 in not much over 2 minutes. Absolutely pathetic from the players. Yet, of course, some will point the finger at Yates t...

Re: What can the club do?
Cost is a big issue for a number of people I know. £21/£23 for a seat and £16/£18 for standing is simply too much for the quality of entertainment on offer. I, myself, endure the cost as I love the club, but there are many who don't. They would rather do something else, cheaper, for 2 hours on a Sat...

Re: 21 points dropped from winning positions so far this sea
The worst in the Football League for dropped points from winning positions are Ipswich, who have dropped 23. We aren't even top of this unwanted table in our own league as Portsmouth have dropped 22 from winning positions. We're 3rd when taking in to account all Football League teams. What I'm unsur...

Re: Worst half of football this season?
The first 25 minutes were horrific. Things picked up slightly for 10 minutes when Yates went back to the 4312, but that petered out and in a 50/50 final 10 of the first half they've got the second late on. Last half an hour was a massive improvement and chances were there to get a point, if not win ...

I think he meant Cheltenham fans in the pre-season. Cardiff and Coventry brought more than expected but not as many home fans turned up as hoped, and the Chelt v Glos game was less than hoped for. Surely he must have expected a very low turn-out for this with all things considered. It was effective...
